BAT Turkey was founded in 2002 and the same year began its operation in its factory in Izmir Tire. BAT Turkey which had its first export from Turkey in 2006 has become one of the leaders of the export sector by increasing its export potential in the upcoming periods. Performing one of the largest privatizations in the history of the Republic in 2008, BAT Turkey has strengthened its position in the market with foreign brands as well as domestic brands with the privatization of the Monopolised tobacco section.
In 2010, the factory in Samsun turned into a production base and it started to produce only in this factory.
BAT Turkey, which celebrated its 15th year in 2017, makes sales through its distribution network and regional offices in the Asian and European side of Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Adana, and Bursa in addition to its own distribution network. BAT Turkey operated as the export leader in Tobacco and Tobacco Products Sector during the period 2012-2015. Reaching a total investment of $ 2 billion in Turkey, BAT Turkey provides employment to 3,000 people directly and indirectly. Lastly, BAT Turkey merged with the North Africa region on 1 April 2017 and has become responsible for 8 markets including Turkey, Northern Cyprus, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Sudan under the name of Turkey and North Africa (TNA) Region.
